Every season, I have a word of motivation – rooted in scripture and laden with encouragement – I use as my driving force in life, school, and work. There is not really a time frame or limit for these words. Sometimes when a new season is coming I simply stumble across one that speaks to my soul with a definite “that’s it!” And there’s my word. Other times, it’s a whisper or nudge.
Today was one of those days in the car on my Sunday drive to church.
My mission for Winnefred Austin’s launch has been to work using my gifts to the praise of His glory – letting His light shine through to every person reached. This light is not mine – I’m the lamp keeper for the light to shine through. It only takes one glimmer of a spark – a small beginning filled with hope to create something much greater than anything on my own.
S H I N E
That’s Winnefred’s latest WORD for me as founder and artist gal in the early days of this company.
Ultimately, Winnefred Austin started with a place, a person, and a color. Maybe you’ve noticed – Winnefred Austin’s anchor color is golden. My color fetish with marigold started in London when I bought a local handmade saddle bag. Not only was I inspired by the color, but it eventually spurred me on a path to designing my own tote! I started seeing golden flecks of light everywhere in London amidst the January fog. Golden is warm, comforting, and energizing all at once. It streams light to shine into dark places, and it ignites bright places to share their light with others.
Now I want to pass on the torch to you! Whatever your passion is – in whatever season you find yourself – let light SHINE!
Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you. -Isaiah 60:1
